Photo Friday: It’s a Big One

We’ve been digging hardcourt bike polo for a while now. We’ve done a lot of development on some new polo products and thought it’s about time to show off some results. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store for this summer. Get Ready!

Bloody brilliant idea creating an App related to biking. An original idea, as well as a step in the right direction.

That’s something we’re tossing around and seeing how hard it is to do. The option of uploading results to an online database for anyone to view. All the functions we want from the app seem to be in place but there’s a few other idea’s like that we’d like to try to incorporate. We’ll see how development goes.

Hi, any info on the iPhone app? Can the app upload results to some kind of central system which might have a projector or something to show overall scores?

nice to see a tournament app in the works! what features will it have? what type of tournament?

    • cyclingcloseouts says:

We’re still working on some of the features but it should cover multiple styles of tournaments. We’ll give a rundown on everything once we work all the bugs out.

  7. Cool, someone else in London is also working on an iPhone app. I am working on web based system also, which his iPhone app will eventually integrate too. I’m setting out to define a simple HTTP based protocol for submitting/retrieving match info. Its totally open source and available here..

very cool stuff, is that mallet head tapered? whats the reason behind that and what is the material?

    • cyclingcloseouts says:

The head does have the indents on front and back. By bringing those sides in it gives 360 of surface area from top to bottom to secure the shaft and displace the forces as opposed to a typical pipe that absorbs all the impact onto the top and bottom only. It just gives it that extra strength and gives it a nicer look. Anyone can make a mallet from a tube but we thought we’d toss a little engineering at it. It’s going to be made from HDPE.

      • nate says:

ah i see what your sayin. i meant from endcap to endcap is the mallet head different diameters at opposite ends?
