2 Containers – 637 Frames – We’re tired

We just got in the remainder of our Scrambler frames in this morning. We were greeted bright and early by a 20 foot container of frames waiting for us as we came in. Shortly after we began unloading that a 40 foot container pulled up with the rest. As we learned with our last container that brought our wheels, containers don’t come palletized which means a lot of hand unloading. Here’s some pictures of our morning.

EighthInch Scrambler V2 Pre-Order

Scrambler Pre-Order

Scrambler Pre-Order

The Scrambler pre-order is here! A lot of you have been asking us when we’ll have them in and what’s new so here’s all the information you’ll need.

The new V2 Scrambler has had a few geometry tweaks including a bottom bracket shell that is 10mm higher for more cornering clearance. The drilling for the brake mounts have been changed so you can now use standard reach brakes, and the drilling for the bottle cages are spread out to better accommodate 2 bottles. We’ll also have a new streamlined fork you can see below, and the cable guides have also been removed from the top tube.

You’ll get even more with the new V2 Scrambler. It comes with frame, fork, headset, seatpost and seatclamp. We will also be offering a carbon fork upgrade for only $30. The V2 Scrambler will also be available in black or white. We expect the frames to arrive in the first 2 weeks of July and we will begin shipping as soon as they come in. All orders will be processed in the order they were received.

To find out more or place a pre-order you can visit our EighthInch store or click on any picture.

March Update

Our first order of business is to answer everyone’s burning question of “When will you have more Scrambler frames?”. To make a long store short we are hoping for May. We were hoping to have them in around February or March but our poor economy here is finally affecting the overseas markets and we recently found out the factory producing our frame has gone bankrupt. Luckily our broker over there is great and he has already found a new factory to produce them. It pushes things back but at least we know we’re getting more in. Once we get a more definite date on arrival we will open the store to pre-orders.

If you’d like to be on the mailing list for pre-orders just send your name and frame size to sales@eighthinch.com and we’ll add you to the email list. You’ll be the first to know!

A lot of you have been asking about the street team also. Things have slowed a bit on that also. The company printing all of our promotional materials failed to deliver as well. We found another group that’s great and we’re hoping to have materials in soon. If you’d like to learn more about our street team check it out here. Otherwise send an email to sales@eighthinch.com and we can get you all signed up.

We’ve been working on a lot of things behind the scenes here over the winter that I think you’ll all really enjoy. We are finalizing the designs and placing final orders for our EighthInch brand parts so look for them in June. We also have a few more surprises in store with the Scrambler frames. Keep checking back to find out more. We are hoping this will be a big summer for us.

Aerospokes are (finally) here!

It’s not fun when your loading dock is completely full, but when it’s all from an order of Aerospoke’s you can’t get too angry. No, there are no smoke or mirrors used in those pictures, after a long long wait it’s finally an order of 50 Aerospokes. We should be getting even more in the next few weeks once they get out of the paint booth. Now I know this seems like a lot of wheels but trust me, if these sell half as fast as our last batch they will be out the door as quick as they came in. It’s a six week back-order from the factory so once these are gone we may not have them in for a long time. Aerospoke’s website has a great write-up on the wheels you can read here.

We thought we’d try some new colors this time so we order in yellow (my personal favorite), orange, red, and blue along with white, gold and black which have been the most popular colors in the past. We have front wheels for every color along with rears in white, black, and red.  I will mention that the black are slightly different then the ones we have carried in the past. They are actually a painted black instead of the plain black carbon. We should have all of them listed soon so click on the pictures to visit our eBay store and pick one up! (with free shipping to the lower 48 of course)
